SCRIPTURE MEMORY FOR SEPTEMBER 2010

I want to personally affirm you who have spent the last year memorizing and reviewing Psalm 103 with me.  I am confident our Lord has blessed you with a greater knowledge of Him.  I am confident your love for Him has increased and you also have a greater appreciation of His ministry to you out of His mercy, compassion, love, and forgiveness.  Now, I want to challenge you to join me in continuing to review this psalm (and Psalm 145!) in the future during our devotional time before Him.  What a wonderful foundation for the offering of our thanksgiving and praise to Him!

I have selected a single verse for our Scripture memory during this month of September.  It comes from the New Testament, from John’s gospel, the words of Jesus for us.

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”  (John 14:27).

These are troubling days economically, politically, socially, and spiritually.  In the midst of these difficult days come these words from Jesus who gives us peace in Him and who encourages us to replace our fears with faith in Him.

Let’s be wise and take Him up on His offer.

Pastor John
